El Corchito - Progreso
In the morning we're going to visit the enchanting nature reserve "El Corchito" near Progreso, with its pool-like open air cenotes, where we can dip in. Some friendly raccoons as well as coatis and all sorts of bird-life will greet us here.
Later we can stroll along the beautiful malecón of Progreso and stop for some ceviche or tacos in one of the many beach restaurants.
Optional evening-program: since the streets in the city center are closed for traffic on Friday evenings, it's perfect for a leisurely walk around the Zocalo (=main square). There is also an awesome Facade mapping at 7p.m., with the Cathedral of Ildefonso as the backdrop.
